So within ITV I work for Day Break, I'm a senior producer on the features department and I oversee a department called 'The Guide', which are short films which run within the show twice a morning. And my role within that is, I kind of do everything from scripting to going out to film to coming back and actually edit the pieces together, so I kind of see it from start to finish.

So I did a journalism degree so I always knew media was where I wanted to work, but I always thought it was newspapers because I worked at local newspapers, local radio and I didn't really think much about television and then I did work experience as Grenada in Manchester and loved it and it was definitely somewhere then I knew I wanted to work so then I moved to London and started at GMTV and I've kind of just come from there really, I went from programme assistant to trainee to researcher to producer and now I'm a senior producer, so it's been brilliant, I've loved every minute of it.

I went from programme assistant to senior producer. I’ve loved every minute of it.

So at ITV I'm the director of web solutions delivery for online and on-demand, which means I look after everything that gets a web page on the web - that includes quality assurance, product management, visual design, user experience, front end development and a couple of other nik-naks here and there.

Well, I started as a graphic designer in New York around 1994 which is the same time the web went commercial and a friend told me he was making money on the web and I should probably give it a go and I did. Fast-forward two years later and I'm living in California working for Yahoo and then they decided they wanted to move me overseas so I came to London, took a career break for a year and before I started at ITV I was consulting. ITV is a really dynamic place to work and it's a great place to be right now - ITV's all about transformation and I love transformation projects and for somebody like me, who loves the web, ITV has a long way to go and I'm really excited to help us get there.

I'm a production executive at ITV, I work in the non-scripted department for ITV studios. I work with the entertainment development team which means that I budget their ideas once there's a spark of interest from somewhere I work with them to get together all of the figures, which is quite interesting because it's working on programmes that absolutely haven't been seen before, so I get first look at what we're up to which is great. I also work with the global entertainment formats consultant, assist her in getting the formats information out to the various companies that decide to make our formats, not just our own production companies but our formats get sold all over the world. We've also just sent somebody out to China a couple of times because there's a Chinese version of 'Surprise Surprise' which is in production at the moment. I came in on a three month contract and I've just enjoyed the people that I've worked with - it is the people that make the difference here.

It is the people that make the difference here.
